Completed project: an interior repaint in Bradford

Paint gets the credit, but prep does the work. This Bradford project covered a bathroom and a bedroom, moving them from dated tones to a warm, current greige with crisp white trim. Before a drop of colour went on, there was patching and skim-coating to do — because a fresh coat only looks as good as the wall underneath it.

The scope of work

We started with repairs: filling and skim-coating the walls, sanding smooth, and priming the patched areas so they would not flash through the finish. Then we cut in clean lines at the ceiling, trim and fixtures, and rolled the walls in an even greige. White trim and ceilings frame the new colour and keep the rooms feeling bright.

The result

Finished repainted bathroom in Bradford in a warm greige with white ceiling and trim and recessed lighting
After: a clean, current greige with white trim — flawless because the prep was done first.

Both rooms feel updated and considered, with smooth walls, sharp lines and a colour that works with the fixtures. The difference between a good repaint and a great one is almost always invisible — it is in the wall you no longer notice.

What interior painting costs

  • A single room (walls only): $350–$700
  • Room with ceiling, trim and minor patching: $600–$1,200
  • Multiple rooms or extensive prep and repair: quoted after a walkthrough

Ceiling height, trim, colour changes and the amount of prep all affect the price. Every repaint gets a fixed quote after we see the rooms.

Why hire a professional

  • Prep is 80 percent of a good paint job — skim-coating, sanding and priming are what make the finish look flawless.
  • Straight cut-in lines at the ceiling and trim, with no tape bleed, are a practised skill.
  • The right primer stops patches and stains from flashing through your new colour months later.
