Completed project: king bed frame assembly in Vaughan

A family in Maple ordered a king storage bed online — the kind with a hydraulic lift and a deep storage cavity under the mattress. The box weighed more than the customer expected, the manual ran 40 pages, and the previous bed still needed to come apart. A perfect afternoon for us.

The job

  • Disassemble and move out the old queen frame
  • Assemble the new king storage bed with hydraulic lift
  • Torque and lock-washer every structural bolt
  • Test the lift mechanism through 20 open-close cycles
  • Break down and remove all packaging

Why storage beds are worth hiring out

Storage beds combine the two things that go wrong in DIY assembly: heavy panels that need two sets of hands, and a gas-piston mechanism that's genuinely dangerous if installed out of sequence. The pistons are under significant pressure — fitted in the wrong order, the frame can slam shut or refuse to open. We assemble these every month and follow a strict sequence: frame square first, pistons last, then cycle-testing before the mattress ever goes on.

The result

Just under three hours from boxes to a finished, silent bed — old frame disassembled and set aside for donation pickup, packaging gone, bedroom vacuumed. The customer's only job was choosing what to store underneath.
